The auditory pathway crosses the midline at the trapezoid body — it starts on the right (cochlea, CN VIII, cochlear nuclei) but the majority of fibers decussate there and continue up the left side (superior olive → lemniscus → inferior colliculus → medial geniculate → auditory cortex); the vestibular pathway stays right (ipsilateral).
